Northeast Judge Conference in Providence

Event Information:

On behalf the Magic Judge program and our Regional Coordinator Shawn Doherty I am happy to invite all of you to attend the first Judge Conference in the North East of 2013 which will be held in association with Grand Prix Providence on Friday June 7^th.  This conference will feature numerous seminars on a wide variety of topics which should be interesting to both recently certified and long time judges.  Judge candidates will be able to learn from and get to meet a number of more experienced judges from around the world. 

Participation in this Judge Conference is not dependent upon selection to be a member of the judge staff of Grand Prix Providence.  So if you are planning on coming to play or are not able to take the full weekend to participate in the Grand Prix please come join us and attend a few seminars on Friday. 

This conference will take place at Mana Core which is located at 239 Oak St. 2L in Providence Rhode Island.  This store is a couple of stops on a bus away from the Rhode Island Convention Center where Grand Prix Providence will occur and less than a half hour walk away from the venue.  Thanks to James Searles for making it possible for us to use his store as a venue for this event.

In addition to the judge conference Mana Core will be having a Cookout during the conference dinner break open to all conference participants for only $5.  More details on this will be available as we get closer to the event.

Benefits:

All DCI Certified judges who register for the conference on MTG Judge Apps and participate in the conference will receive a selection of exclusive promotional cards courtesy of Wizards of the Coast.  The number of cards each judge receives will depend upon the amount they participate in the conference.  If you certify for L1 at Grand Prix Providence and attend the conference, you will be eligible for the promotional foils.

Presenters:

We currently have a couple of presenters lined up for the conference, but we are looking for several more.  If you have a topic you would like to present, or if you are interested in presenting, but do not have a specific topic in mind please contact me at Benjamin_L_Klein@yahoo.com to tell me about the seminar you would like to present or what type of topic you might be interested in or to just say you would like to present a seminar.  If you already have a seminar prepared please include the topic, the expected length of your presentation, and any additional information you think is relevant (such as a need for a projector etc.)
