EXPECTATIONS
Judges volunteering at a Star City Games Open Series event are expected to prepare for each event by reviewing the Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules, Infraction Procedure Guide, and Judging at Regular REL documents, each of which can be found at the Magic Judges Document Center. Judges are also expected to behave in a professional manner at all times, as representatives of Star City Games and the Magic Judge program. This includes arriving on time, and in appropriate attire.
Judges should arrive no later than 8:30 AM on days they are scheduled to judge and are expected to stay until the conclusion of the Swiss rounds. If you must arrive later than 8:30 or may have to leave before the conclusion of Swiss (to catch a ride, for instance), please note that in your application.
The dress code for judges at our Open Series events is a tucked-in Star City Games judge shirt (which will be provided for your use at the event, and will be returned at its conclusion), black pants (dress pants are preferred; jeans are acceptable), a belt, and comfortable shoes (both preferably black). Judges should not be in uniform while off-duty, including during breaks and while trading.
TESTING
Testing is available at this event. If you wish to test, you must contact steven.zwanger@starcitygames.com at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
Judges wishing to test for Level 2 must meet the following criteria:
* Complete the pre-test requirements listed at <http://wiki.magicjudges.org/en/w/Judge_Levels#Level_2_-_Area_Judge>
* Take a Level 2 Practice Exam and e-mail the exam ID and score to <steven.zwanger@starcitygames.com>

- $76 (mailed as a check after the event, pending completion of a Federal W9 tax form.)
- $95 in StarCityGames.com store credit (usable either online or at the event.)
Judges will also receive one free month of StarCityGames.com Premium access, one pack of sleeves, and a number of Judge Reward points for each Open Series event at which they volunteer. Full details about the Judge Rewards program can be found at <http://www.starcitygames.com/pages/event_staffing/judge_rewards>.
Uncertified judges (Level 0) at our Open Series events receive one Compensation Unit per day.
