Connecticon Convention 2016

Greetings Judges!!

Welcome to the Connecticon 2016 application page. Connecticon is a 3-day multigenre convention that is held in Hartford, CT. If you are curious about the convention, please go to https://www.facebook.com/events/1743029489274114/ and http://connecticon.org. We're looking to bring on some great people who are interested in having fun and enuring that the convention goers have a good time.

Events:

For the past two years the convention coincided with the summer prerelease schedule, however this year it does not, so our focus will be on more ODEs than in the recent past. We do not have any set in stone scheduled events except for FNM as of yet. If you wish to make suggestions, please feel free to do so.

Schedule

Another change this year is that the main gaming hall is only open from 9 am until 9 pm and only until 6 pm on Sunday. As that is only a 12 hour window I'm going to try to have judges pulling 8 hour shifts, though that is subject to change based on final staff size. This is the expected breakout of judges for the weekend:

Six Judges for Friday

Eight Judges for Saturday

Four Judges for Sunday

As there are no prereleases we will not be staffing any judges specifically for setup on Thursday.

Compensation

We're trying a slightly new approach this year and offering different compensations if you do not need us to provide you with a hotel room and breakfast. Here is the compensation we are offering:

L3 = $225/day -or- $150/day, hotel room breakfast

L2 = $175/day -or- $100/day, hotel room breakfast

L1 = $125/day -or- $50/day, hotel room, breakfast

If you work two or more days, you will be given a badge for the entire weekend. If you only work one day, then you will be given a one day badge for that specific day.
