I see some comments stating folks aren't happy the scenario is allowed, and I can understand that.

But, I'll take the other side on this one. I'm happy that this scenario is allowed.

Trying to disallow it would lead down a very messy hole where we end up having to make judgement calls about sportsmanship (which is a highly personal sort of call). I really don't want to have that argument in the middle of a tournament (or pretty much ever, really). And I really appreciate the protection the clarity of the rule provides.

In this case, it's the MTR protecting us instead of the IPG by having a crisp definition. But I'm happy to have the shield regardless of which document it comes from. =)
