Passing Score Bug Fixed

As reported in the following thread…

http://apps.magicjudges.org/forum/topic/8431/

…there had been a bug with passing scores and the automatic update of Judge memberships. I am happy to report that the bug has been fixed, and we've been experiencing no issues since the fix. Memberships are only updating via an “Interview”-type review, as simply entering an exam result doesn't cause any update of memberships. The passing score for both the Level 1 and Level 2 exams now accurately reflect the required passing score necessary for candidates to achieve. (70% for Level 1, 80% for Level 2.)

That being said, I want to repeat the following from the previous thread since we do have an undesirable rate of error with certifications…

(1) Select the “Interview”-type review from the three options offered, noting the Exam ID# in that field, the candidate's score on the exam, and that you select the appropriate recommended level from the provided drop down.
(2) In the “Subject Name” field, put in the candidate's DCI#. This ensures the review sends the proper information to the database where all memberships are maintained. (This is absolutely critical and where most errors happen.)
(3) Enter some comments regarding the candidate's strengths, weaknesses, and other notes. If you want to link them to the Magic Judge Apps forum, great. Or perhaps to the Judge Wiki. Even discuss some resources they could use to continue to improve as a judge.
(4) Press the “Preview” button and check over your work. You can correct any errors under the “Edit Review” expansion.
(5) Once you're satisfied with the review, press the “Submit” button. And that should auto-update the candidate's membership.

…and make sure to send an email or otherwise contact the candidate to let them know that you submitted the advancement review. Have them check it over in the Judge Center, just to make sure they've read it, and can ask any questions about the process.

Again, to keep the incident rate of errors to a minimum, please use a candidate's DCI# (do not use names) when creating certification exams and entering reviews.

Thanks!
