JudgeApps Announcements

Heya judges!

I wanted to share with you a few important JudgeApps updates.

1) Event Notifications

You're already used to getting notifications from JudgeApps for things such as forum posts, but now there's a new type of notification that we hope you'll find useful: Event Notifications.

Event notifications allow you to set what event types and locations you're interested in, and get notified by either on-site or email notifications whenever a matching event is created within JudgeApps.

The options are quite granular, allowing you to configure your settings to do something like:

“Notify me of all Pro Tours (regardless of where they are), all Grand Prix events in North America, all Judge Conferences in the United States, and all events within my region (regardless of what type they are).”

You can find some further instructions here: http://blogs.magicjudges.org/judgeapps/your-profile-and-settings/event-notification-settings/

When you're ready to set your notifications, head on over to: http://apps.magicjudges.org/notifications/settings/

Please remember that soliciting judges for your local events in the general forums is prohibited. It's very likely allowed, if not encouraged, in your regional forum (if you have one), but if you're unsure, please check with your Regional Coordinator first. ( http://apps.magicjudges.org/regions/ )

I'd like to thank Alexei Gousev for implementing this idea. I'm very excited about it!

2) User Interface Languages

The JudgeApps User Interface is now available in the following languages: English, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean (with more on the way!)

For information on setting your language, see this post:

http://blogs.magicjudges.org/judgeapps/your-profile-and-settings/choosing-your-user-interface-language/

If you're interested in helping translate JudgeApps to a new language, please contact Alexei Gousev ( http://apps.magicjudges.org/judges/numegil/ )

Once again, I'd like to thank Alexei Gousev for his work here in making JudgeApps accessible to many new judges! (And, of course, all those who helped with translations!)

3) A Short Note on Recurring Threads

We're very happy to see judges posting updates from their projects in the Un-official Announcements forum, but we do have important thing to keep in mind when doing so: If you're posting monthly/weekly updates about a topic, and are using the announcement forum as a tool to do this, please refrain from making new threads each time.

Instead, please create a single thread in the forum, and make subsequent updates in that thread. This will allow both that judges who are interested in the updates to make sure they're receiving those updates, as well as allowing judges who don't need notifications on these topics immediately to thin out their inboxes a bit.

For a great example of someone already doing this, see Johanna's Judge Anniversaries thread: http://apps.magicjudges.org/forum/topic/2114/

/////

With that, I'll let you get back to your week of exciting Dragon's Maze previews.

Happy Judging, and thanks for flying JudgeApps!

The Private Message system on JudgeApps is in the process of going away. In fact, you already can't send any new Private Messages! But have no fear - you can still contact other judges privately through JudgeApps!

Read about the changes here:
http://blogs.magicjudges.org/judgeapps/2014/01/31/goodbye-private-messages-hello-email/

Important Note: Per the blog post, all private messages stored on JudgeApps will be permanently deleted after March 1, 2014.

JudgeApps Announcements

Hey Judges!

JudgeApps now hosts over 150 projects, and we'd like to take a moment to ask those of you involved in such a project to spend just a few minutes making sure your project information is complete and accurate. Read more on our JudgeApps blog:
