English Nationals 2018

Hello Judges, for those of you who don't know me, I am Imogen Tilley a Level 2 currently based in Reading and I will be the Judge Manager for this year's Nationals. During the selection process, I will be working closely with Liz, Francois and the Axion team as well as our HJ for Nationals, who will be announced soon.

Building on the success of last year, we want this Nationals to showcase the highest quality event England has to offer! We are going to need a large and dynamic judge staff to handle not only the logistics of a two format main event but also a whole load of exciting side events including one of Axion's famous Mega Modern events!

As always Axion are looking for judges willing to go above and beyond to provide a great experience for players.

You are welcome to apply for as many days/roles as you are interested in. Please be aware that some key roles may be assigned before the application deadline, so if you're really keen to do something specific please get your application in early.

Base Compensation Rate: 1 box of M19 per day + £15 food stipend per day + Ultimate Guard Goodie.
450+ Player Bonus: + Half Box
550+ Player Bonus + Whole Box 

After some feedback about the bonus compensation feeling great when the target's met but like a big loss when it's not we have adjusted our bonus system to be stepped so that even if we don't reach our target for a full extra box there is an increase of half a box at a lower level. The Bonuses are based on the number of players in Nationals + the number in the major side event on each day and will be worked out daily. Last year we had well over 550 unique players on the Saturday and were close on the Sunday but just fell short so we are hoping to top those numbers this year!

If you are interested in being a STANDBY at this event we would love to have you! Any Standby judges who are not activated will get free entry into the events of their choice up to the value of entry into Nationals. Standbys are an important part of running large events that can have variable turn outs so please, if you know a judge who is undecided on whether to play or judge over the weekend or you yourself would like to come to Nationals but are interested in playing a bit more than judging, please consider applying to be a standby.
