Thank you for your interest in events at Victory Comics, the largest gaming space inside the beltway! We are looking for a number of judges to make our events a success, so please, read on to determine how we can work together.

We are looking for a number of judges for this event, with three shifts. The shifts, and staffing, are:

• Friday at 11:00 pm (Midnight prerelease): 1 Head Judge
• Saturday at 11:30 am (Noon and 6:00 prereleases): 1 Head Judge, 1 Floor Judge
• Sunday at 11:30 am (Noon, 3:00 (2HG), and 6:00 prereleases): 2 Head Judges

Judges will be assigned an entire shift, and may be assigned to Head Judge one or more Prereleases during that shift.

Format

Each Prerelease will be four fifty-minute rounds, with no cut, following a thirty-minute build period (except 2HG, which uses a sixty-minute build).

Compensation

Judges on staff will receive $200 credit per shift, plus free entry into a Prerelease of their choice, plus lunch and drinks while on duty. (this is an increase of 50ish% over 2017 compensation!)

Expectations

Judges are expected to be on-site, in judge uniform, thirty minutes before the first event for the shift they will be working. If you are running late, please call the store so we can be prepared. Judges are expected to stay until the event is concluded.

Judges are expected to be familiar with the JAR, MTR and Comp Rules, including any updates with the release of the new set.

If you do not have a Magic Judge shirt, please wear a black long-sleeve dress shirt - we may have a shirt in your size available to borrow for the day.

Application Guidelines

Staffing for this event will be primarily level one judges.

Staff for all events will be announced within one week of the application deadline.
