Event Information

General Information

Swedish Nationals 2018 will be held in Gothenburg August 18-19th. It will be a two-day event, with five rounds of standard and a draft during Saturday and top 8 during Sunday. We will also host a couple of major sideevents for both days. You can apply for one or both days with standby in any combination. Priority will be given for, in turn, L2's -> flexibility (number of days/standby)

Our goal for this event is to run a team-based judging crew much like on the GP circuit, if you have any preferences of tasks or would like a team-lead role please include that in your coverletter, we might not be able to fullfill everyones wishes for shifts or tasks but will do our best. Judges asking for a leadrole are expected to be experienced with Comp-REL.

Shifts

The Saturday shift starts at 8:45 and runs until end of round 8.

The Sunday shift starts at 9:15 and ends at 19:00

If you have too leave early on Sunday please include this in the coverletter.

Location

The Venue is at the Hvitfeldska Gymnasiet, Rektorsgatan 2 in Gothenburg. The store, Mindstage is approx 5 min walk from there.

Compensation

For each day on staff you receive 36 boosters of M19. Other sets might be available (talk to Jens). As Standby you get to play either Nationals or a major sidevent for free the day you're Standby unless activated. If Activated you receive the same compensation as everyone else

If you are selected to be on staff, you will be expected to show up early enough to be in judge attire and ready to work at the assigned time. Judge attire includes black shoes, black trousers and a judge shirt. You will also be expected to be available until the assigned end-time of the shift. If you need to leave early sort this out with Jens BEFORE the event.

Standbys are expected to be able to work on short notice (5 min) but we will activate you as soon as we know that we need you.

We expect all judges on staff (both ordinary and Standby) to be up to date with Comp-REL aswell as tournament rules

Judge testing

We probably have the opportunity to test for both L1 and L2 during this weekend. Testing for L2 needs to be sorted out in advance. Testing for L1 preferrably is scheduled beforehand but we might be able to do this during the weekend. Talk to Jens and we'll sort it out
