Belgian National Championships

Hi everyone,

It is my pleasure to announce the Belgian National Championship. This application will give you all the information you'd hopefully need and allow you to apply for Main event judge lead, floor judge and scorekeeper, as well as Sunday PPTQ Head Judge and Floor judge. The application window closes on July 31st.

The Event

The event will be split over 2 days, with (likely) 5 rounds of Swiss and a draft with 3 played rounds being held on Saturday on a yet to be confirmed site in Antwerp. The Top 8 and a PPTQ will be held on Sunday at the Outpost Gaming center in Antwerp. The Saturday starting time is currently not decided.

Open Positions, requirements and compensation

Scorekeeper 
The event will have only one draft and therefor we can run everything in WER, so no special software skills are required. There will be a preregistration process which means you need to be comfortable doing some prep work on Friday evening. If you are applying for this position, let me know what experience you have doing events with multiple formats. There will be a prep and test session for this position close to Nationals in order to prepare for some possible problems. We are looking for someone who can do this job on both days in order to guarantee continuity. On Sunday that means you will have a second responsibility which can be any role in the PPTQ. Because of the secondary role this position is likely only for L2 judges, but experienced L1's can be considered as well. 
The Compensation for this position is €130 for Saturday and depends on the secondary role on Sunday.

Task Lead/Floor judge
Besides the Head Judge and the Scorekeeper, we are looking for at least 5 judges to help run the event. Of these some will get some extra responsibilities depending on the final size of the event. At minimum a Decklist Lead and a Paper Lead will be appointed. L2 judges are preferred but L1 judges with experience in Competitive tournaments can be considered as Floor judges.
The Compensation for all these positions is €110.

Spare judge
We would like to have some back-up available in case the event ends up being larger than expected. 2 slots are available for spare judges. These can play the National Championship for free if not activated (if elligible) or can choose toplay the PPTQ on Sunday for free instead. L2 judges are preferred but experienced L1 judges can be considered.
The Compensation is €110 if activated.

PPTQ Head judge
At 10:00 the Sealed PPTQ will start in Outpost Antwerp. The head judge is expected to stay until the end of the Top 8. L2 is required for this position.
The Compensation is €100.

PPTQ Floor Judge
Floor judges are expected to stay until the end of Swiss. At 14:00 the Nationals Top 8 will start which will borrow from this pool to have a dedicated Floor Judge. L2 is prequired to be on the Top 8, but experienced L1's may apply to be Floor judges on the PPTQ. 2 Floor judges will be accepted.
The Compensation is €75.

PPTQ Spare judge
We would like to have 1 spare judge in case the event becomes larger than expected. In case this person is not needed they can enter the PPTQ for free. 
The Compensation is €75 if activated.

If compensated you als get food and water/coffee. The compensation stated is the full amount and includes travel compensation.

There will be side events in Outpost Antwerp. Staffing and planning for these will be handled by Jelle Emmerechts.

Selections

The selections will be made know within 7 days of the application window closing. Leaving you with a month to plan travels.
