Event Information
Outpost Antwerp is organizing a Pro Tour Qualifier in Belgium's biggest harbor. This Sealed Deck tournament with Top 8 boosterdraft will likely draw players from all over the country and beyond. It will be a great opportunity to judge the highest level of competition that a store can organize and players are expecting judges to be at their best to maintain a fair and fun tournament. The judges will work as a team, so it's one of the best opportunities to teach and learn.
Judges of all levels can apply, but knowledge of the IPG is mandatory and L2+ judges will get priority in the selection.
Please indicate it in your cover letter if you'd like to be tested for the next level on the day of the event.
You can apply either as Volunteer or Standby. We're looking for 4 or 5 Floor Judges and 1 or 2 Standby Judges. Standby judges will only be activated as staff if the attendance will go over 160, respectively 200, players and will play in the main event for free otherwise. If you wouldn't mind to play into this Sealed Deck event, please also apply as Standby.
Judges are expected to be on site, ready to work at 09.00 AM. Floorjudges will be dismissed when the Swiss rounds are finished.
Public information about the event: [url to follow]
Applications are accepted until March 11th.
Selections will be announced on March 13th.
Because being staffed on a PTQ is seen as an opportunity and a reward for past activity the Regional Coordinator will be involved in the selection.
Compensation offered by the TO is the following:
* Total Judge compensation Pool: store credit of 2 €/player (up to a maximum of 60 € per judge),
* The pool will be divided by the HJ between judges based on specific responsibilities before, during and after the event,
* The store credit can be accumulated from event to event but is only valid in the store where it has been earned. It can be used on any purchase (events, food, drinks, singles, products, etc.),
* Transportation cost cash for L3+ Judges based on train ticket,
* Food Benefit: 1 Free Meal/Judge during the tournament if 7 rounds + Free Water all day,
* 2 Free Meals/Judge during the tournament if 8 rounds + Free Water all day,
* Judges are not allowed to play in the event that they are judging,
* A standby judge system will also be used: after the TO's expected number of player has been communicated to the Head Judge, a 20% increase will be added to that number and if the total results in an extra judge needed, it will be provided accordingly. That Judge will be considered as a standby judge so if he is eventually not needed for judging purposes, he will be able to play in the main event for free.
* The number of judges necessary for events will follow the recommended WOTC chart (the Judge level required may vary according to the event)
On behalf of Outpost;
Thank you for your interest.
