Event Information

Rook's is hosting a competitive tournament to raise money for food banks, just before Christmas!

We're looking for one or two judges who would be interested in donating by judging the event for free*.

The event will begin at 11 AM, and will probably go until about 7 PM.

Though this will be a fun event, applicants will still be expected to behave professionally and run a solid competitive event. L1s are encouraged to apply, but they should be familiar with the IPG and other documents.

This will be a Legacy tournament, with proxies legal, and a couple of other funky twists to keep judges from getting bored:

- Modified play/draw rule: Players will highroll a D20 to determine play or draw. After each player has rolled that, they may take turns paying $1 to roll an additional D6 and add the result to their D20. One player can choose to add three such rolls while the other does not add any, or each player may add 15 such rolls as they go back and forth trying to out-do the other.

After the cut to the top8, the same modified rule will be used, except that the higher seed at the end of the swiss will get a +5 bonus to their D20. Hopefully this gives a good advantage to the higher seed, but still encourages donations on site.

- Players will be able to buy a first round bye, by donating extra to the food bank before the event begins.

*The judge manager would like to remind you that judging a charity event is the only time you should consider judging for free.
