Event Information

Hello judges,

We are pleased to open applications for Bazaar of Moxen, the largest Eternal convention in the world.
Applications for this event will close on March, 17th, as we would like to announce the staff selection end of March. If you have any questions, please email Guillaume Beuzelin at beuzelin.guillaume@gmail.com

BoM’s 9th Edition will take place from Thursday, May 1th to Sunday, May 4th in Annecy, France. During these 4 days of gaming we are expecting more than 1000 unique players. We are still working on the schedule but for sure we will have a main event in Legacy and others tournaments in Duel Commander, Vintage, Modern and sealed.

Who do we look for?
We are looking for Head Judges, Floor Judges and also 2 to 3 Scorekeepers.
Bazaar of Moxen being an international event, you must speak English to apply. Speaking French is not mandatory but will be valued when making the staff selection.

Floor judges
Since the vast majority of our events will be run at REL Competitive, we will strongly prefer applications coming from L2 or higher judges. However, if you are L1, feel free to apply, we may have a couple spots left for you.

Head Judges
If you would like to be the Head Judge of one of the Main Events, you must be an L3 or higher level judge. Smaller tournament HJ positions will be made available to L2s. Please specify it in your application.

Scorekeepers
Bazaar of Moxen is quite similar to a Grand Prix from a Scorekeeper’s point of view. If you would like to apply to be a scorekeeper, please let us know which events you have been scorekeeping recently as well as their size.

Breakdown
We are looking for a judge able to do the breakdown for the majors tournaments. The coverage team will need your help for half of the day, during the other part of the day you will do classic judge tasks.

Top8 decklist typing
We are looking for a judge we would like to help the coverage by typing the top8 decklists of each major tournament. The coverage team will need your help for half of the day, during the other part of the day you will do classic judge tasks.

Expectations
We expect our judges to be up-to-date with the latest Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules and especially the latest MIPG version. Our Main Events offer significant prizes and we aim at giving our players the best possible play experience.
We expect judges to behave professionally at all times, including when they are off duty: Remember that even without a Judge Shirt, you will still be perceived as a staff member.

Even if we will do our best to reduce the length of your shifts, please be aware these will be long days, as some tournaments are likely to last 10 Swiss rounds.

Compensation:
L1 and L2s will be granted 1 box of product per day they work.
L3s and higher will be granted 1.5 box of product per day they work.
Scorekeepers will be granted 2 boxes of product per day of work.

Room Sponsorship:
There will be room sponsorships for a part of the staff. We are still working on it. If your application is accepted, we will send you our offer concerning the room sponsorship. It will be full sponsorship and maybe partial sponsorship.

Update march 6th: All L3+ will get a full roomsponsorship. We are still working to be able to offer more roomsponsorships.

Hotels are within walking distance from the venue (no car necessary).

Community
We will also facilitate judge testing at this event. Please contact Guillaume Beuzelin, the local RC, at beuzelin.guillaume@gmail.com at least 1 week before the event if you would like to be tested during BoM so that we can plan accordingly.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to another wonderful Bazaar of Moxen.

Guillaume Beuzelin
