Event Information
You better not shout. You better not cry.
You better not pout, I'm telling you why.
Nicky B is coming, to Ravnica.
He's not here yet, but tension are mounting and Allegeiances are being formed. Will you stand with the judges for the I'm Board prerelease events?
Listed below are the events we will be running that weekend, along with when registration starts, when the event starts, and when the head judge's call time will be. Call times are before registration begins to ensure the head judge can get whatever prep work is required done to make their event successful.
Note- all of these events are for I'm Board Middleton. No prereleases at Sun Prairie this time around.
Jan 19th - Friday night/Saturday morning Midnight Sealed, Cap 32 (Reg at 11pm Friday, Jan 18th, start at 12am Saturday, call time 10:30pm Friday)
Jan 19th - Saturday AM Sealed, Cap 60 (Reg at 10am, start at 11am, call time 9:45am)
Jan 19th- Saturday PM 2HG, Cap 48 (Reg at 4pm, start at 5pm, call time 3:45pm)
Jan 20th - Sunday AM Sealed, Cap 60 (Reg at 10am, start at 11am, call time 9:45am)
Jan20th - Sunday PM 2HG, Cap 48 (Reg at 4pm, start at 5pm, call time 3:45pm)
Compensation for head judging these events will be 1.25 packs per player in the event you head-judged, to be paid on Friday, January 25th. You also have the option of taking your compensation in store credit at a rate of $3.00 store credit per booster pack.
Additionally, the smaller cap on the Midnight Sealed event comes with an additional perk - you are encouraged to play and judge this event, and you play in the event for free! Just keep it fair, keep it fun, and keep it moving along! And yes, this means all other events you will be required to full-time judge.
All head judges will need to use WER for registering players, recording match results, and printing/cutting/distributing match slips. They will also need to use RTools to post the pairings and the round clock for their event. They are expected to perform whatever preparative tasks (such as getting the right kind of table numbers up, as they are different between sealed and 2HG) are necessary to make the room ready for their event. They are also expected to read the set release notes when they are available and come ready to answer player questions and promote a fun, educational, and positive experience for all of our players.
Questions, comments, concerns, etc. can be directed to Matthew Westfox. Applications will be accepted through January 1st, and you should know whether or not you are staffed by January 5th.
(NOTE- Player caps may be raised for certain events, and there is flexiblity for each of those events, but will stay close to what is currently listed.)
