GP Manchester 2014 - Judge Conference

We are pleased to announce that there will be a Judge Conference to accompany this year's Grand Prix Manchester!

Judge Conferences are the perfect way to meet judges from all around the world and share experience and knowledge. The conference will consist of seminars and discussion groups focused on various aspects of the judge program, led by volunteer judges. Conferences are the best way for you to learn up-to-date rules and policy knowledge that you can then take back home and apply when you judge your next event.

This event is open to everyone, regardless of level or experience. Whether you're an experienced judge or someone just starting out on your journey, there will be something for you at this event! All you need to do is apply through this page. For applying in advance, you will even receive Judge Foils when you come to the event and attend the seminars!

The event shall start at roughly 10am and will go on until 7pm. At 6pm, we will round out the conference with the traditional UK Judge Quiz, organised by resident quizmaster Sean Knowelden. These details will be confirmed closer to the event, once we know how many of you will be in attendance!

Seminar Presenters

We are also on the lookout for judges who can present seminars. If you would like to present a seminar, all you have to do is to say so in a cover letter when you apply. (Note: if you do not want to present, there is no need to write a cover letter)

You need a topic, which could simply be something in the program that you're passionate about or that you've discovered recently and want to share with others. If you wish to present a seminar but can't think of a topic, then feel free to message Andrew Quinn or James Winward-Stuart and we will help you figure something out! If you would like any presentation materials such as a projector, computer, note paper, etc... then please also say so in your cover letter and we shall work on acquiring materials for you.

You do not need to be an expert in the topic you're presenting. Senior judges and candidates for leveling up in the judge program are expected to apply to present a seminar or workshop.

The closing date for applications is May 1st, so that we can apply for enough foils for everyone attending!
