Oklahoma Mock Tournament

Part of our Mini-Conference series here in the USA-South, we have our first Mock Tournament of the year!

This Mock Tournament is being hosted by DZ Comics in Moore, Oklahoma on February 24th, from 11:00am to 6:00pm. This conference is not foil supported, but judges will receive product as part of participation, with some playmats to win as well. If necessary, additional compensation can be discussed for judges that are further away.

The format of this tournament will be four pack sealed, 2x IXN 2x RIX, all free thanks to a product donation by CFBE. Experienced judges and competitive players will act as the players, with less experienced judges acting as the Head Judge and Floor Judges of the event. The focus will be on developing the Competitive REL skills of the judges. Scenarios will be distributed to the players and acted out for the sake of education, so expect a bit more chaos than a normal event.

We will be accepting up to 18 players for this event. L2+s and experienced L1s are encouraged to apply to play. An application is not required, but also encouraged as an RSVP. 

We are also looking for someone to present on a topic relevant to judging at Comp REL before the event

The staffing will be:

• 1 Head Judge (L1, preferably with some experience of Comp REL)
• 3 Floor Judges (L1s with little to no Comp REL experiecne. Event experience desired)

Each will be expected to operate at a level similar to that of a Competitive REL event.

The tentative schedule for the day will be:

• 11am: Arrival and check-in, briefing of judge team
• 12pm: Presentation (TBA)
• 1pm: Deck Construction
• 2pm: Round 1
• 3pm: Round 2
• 4pm: Round 3
• 5pm: Debrief, feedback, discussion

Testing for L1 is also possible at this event. Please mention in your application if you are interested.
