Event Information
Hello,
The goal of this event, like all conferences, is to grow the judge community in terms of both size and skill. Rather than seminars, this event will be 100% scripted judge calls, testing all ranges of skills from customer service, rules, and policies. This is a foil supported event, all certfied judges that apply by the February 16th cut off date and attend will be eligible for the packet. (We are working with the tournament orgaziner to have a prepared buylist.) If you have any questions feel free to reach out.
Event begins at 9am. More infomation to come.
==========================================================================================
Assumptions: 16 L1s (students), 8 L2+ (Instructors/actors). 12 scenarios, pods of 6.
How it works: Each station will have 2 instructors. 4 students will make up a pod and they will rotate through the stations. Within each pod, one student will be assigned as the responding judge (rotating system) and the other three students will observe. Instructors will exile the responding judge and set up the situation acting out whatever to set the scene. They will then call judge. The responding judge will return from exile and take the call and deliver a ruling/fix. Most scenarios will be at Competitive Rules Enforcement Level. The observing students will provide feedback to the responding judge, guided by the instructors. Finally, the instructors provide feedback and if time allows, ask further probing questions.
Each “Tournament” will consist of 4 calls, so that each student gets the opportunity to be the responding judge and observe 3 other calls.
