GENERAL INFORMATION
Hello everyone and welcome to the 2019 Mississippi Mini-Con! This conference will be held on Saturday, March 16th at Down to Game in Starkville, MS.
Call time for the conference will be 10:00 am Central.
The focus on this conference is testing and growth of L0s and L1s, which means there is a lot to gain for those of you that are new to the program and those that want to learn more.
TESTING
For those interested in testing at this conference, make sure to check out the requirements for L1 (https://blogs.magicjudges.org/o/judge-levels/) and fill out the appropriate questions in the application. You must notify me (slr392@msstate.edu) no less than 2 weeks before the conference with information detailing the requirements you have met and what/if anything you still need. The sooner you email me the more likely we can make sure you are ready to test at the conference.
In addition, you must have the TO from the store you regularly play at and an L1+ whom has shadowed you for at least one event (of the two events you need to have judged) email me directly a reference of your rules/policy knowledge, character, and demeanor when dealing with players.
I need these references no later than 1 month before the conference.
PRESENTERS
Presenting is fundamental to the growth and education of judges at a conference and we need your help to put on the best ones. Presentations are open to L1s as well, so feel free to take that step and help others learn from your knowledge and experience. Fill out the relevant application questions if you would like to present!
We are looking for 4-6 presenters.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
- First Presentation 10:00am - 10:45am
- Second Presentation 11:00am - 11:45am

- Fourth Presentation 1:00pm - 1:45pm
- Fifth Presentation 2:00pm - 2:45pm
- Sixth Presentation 3:00pm - 3:45pm
- Closing & Foil Distribution 4:00pm - 4:30pm

FOILS
Wizards of the Coast and the Judge Program are rewarding certified Judges at this conference with a selection of Judge foils. The number of foils received by each attendee will be based on the number of seminars attended and the completion of an exit survey. Only those registered and certified by March 1st will be eligible for foil support. There are no exceptions to this policy.
OUT OF STATE JUDGES
Depending on the number of applicants and available space, preference will be given to MS judges before out of state judges. I am extremely hopeful that we will hit the cap of 25 certified judges (including 5 presenters) and that we have many more L0s looking to learn and test!
Out of state judges, please apply for "Standby" sponsorship. The day after applications close if there is space you will be changed to full sponsorship and notified.
