Hello Judges, and welcome to this 2019 Hairy Tarantula 3k Invitational Qualifier. Please read this whole listing as it has details on applications, acceptances, and compensation.

EXPECTATIONS

 
Judging is a lot of fun, but it's also hard work. During the event, you may be asked to do any of the following:

• Take judge calls
• Clean up trash
• Push in chairs
• Clear aisles
• Post Pairings/Standings
• Clean up trash
• Distribute product
• Push in chairs
• Crowd Control
• Clean up trash
• Perform Deck Checks
• Watch Magic
• Push in chairs
• Clean up trash!

Judges are expected to read the relevant documents for their event(s), including:

• Magic Comprehensive Rules (CR)
• Magic Tournament Rules (MTR)
• Infraction Procedure Guide (IPG)
• Judging at Regular REL (JAR)
• Release Notes for appropriate set(s)

Judges are also expected to arrive at 10:00am, in appropriate Judge attire (Magic Judge shirt, Judge Regional Polo, or black button-up shirt; black pants or skirt; comfortable black shoes). Judges are expected to stay until at least the end of the Swiss rounds.

COMPENSATION

Compensation is based on level and/or role.

Judges staffed with "Basic" Sponsorship will be paid $80. Judges who are less experienced with Competitive events should apply for Basic.
Judges staffed with "Full Sponsorship" will be paid $140. Experienced L1s, and L2+s are invited to apply for Full Sponsorship.

We will also be accepting at least one Standby judge. Standby Judges agree to be available for the event, and if activated, will receive Full Sponsorship compensation. Standbys who are not activated will be invited to play the Main Event for free.

We will first make confirmed selections before we select Standbys. If you do not apply for Standby, we will not consider you for Standby.

Amounts are in cash. You may choose to receive your compensation in store credit, with a 25% bonus.
