Event Information
Welcome to the Tabletop Gaming Center's ConnectiCon 2019 application page. ConnectiCon is a 3-day multi-genre convention that is held in Hartford, CT. If you are curious about the convention, please go to Connecticon Convention Facebook Page and Connecticon Convention Page. We're looking to bring on some great people who are interested in having fun and ensuring that the convention attendees have a great experience.
Tabletop Gaming Center's Magic events at Connecticon for 2019 will be held from July 12-14, 2019.
Events:
This years events will consist of mainly drafts. This event will be occurring on the Release weekend of Magic 2020, and I expect that there will be lots of players looking to draft this set. This will also be a month after Modern Horizons launches and that should still be popular as well. Further events will be posted once we decide upon them.
Schedule
In previous years we were in the Convention Center, and as such were subject to the hours of the convention. We're now in the Marriott hotel ballroom, which has no time restrictions on it. Our current plan is to hire a total of 4 judges, all (ideally) working a 9 hour shift with an hour lunch built in. The hours of operation for the Magic Area are to open at 9 AM and to close up when the final events of the day, starting at 9 pm, end. To that end we will be asking one judge to take a late shift which may entail staying past midnight.
Compensation
Just like previous years, we are offering different compensation packages if you do not need us to provide you with a hotel room . Here is the compensation we are offering:
Head Judge = $525/weekend -or- $250/weekend, hotel room, and breakfast.
Floor Judge = $375/weekend -or- $100/weekend, hotel room, and breakfast.
You will be provided with a badge to attend the convention whenever you are not on shift.
If you are selected to work the late shift, you will receive an extra $50 for the weekend.
If you need to work fewer days please put that on your cover letter.
If you have any questions about anything listed above, please feel free to reach out to me on Judge Apps or on Facebook.
The application window for this event will close on June 19th, 2019. If early notification of a decision is needed for travel planning, please mention that in your cover letter.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to working with you at the convention.
