Event Information
Dragon's Den Gaming in Sioux Falls, South Dakota will be hosting a judge mini-conference on Saturday, June 29th, 2019!
Please note that Dragon's Den has moved physical locations. It is about 1 mile West of it's previous location and is just west of the intersection of 41st Street and Sertoma Avenue, near Ace Hardware, Dollar General, and Walgreens.
The focus of this conference will be on sharing experiences and knowledge for certified judges and judge candidates. Applications are NOT limited those in the Sioux Falls Area.
Level 1 Judge testing will be available. Please indicate in your application if you intend to test for L1.

Please make sure you are present at Dragon's Den by 12:45 to help facilitate a timely conference start.
1:10 pm - 2:00 pm - Taking the Call: Handling Judge Calls and the GUMMI Method by Andy Peterson
Based on a judge customer service framework created by Joshua Marin, this presentation will give you the tools you need to perform your best when it comes to actually taking a judge call.
2:10 pm - 3:00 pm - Live Investigation Scenarios by Stacy Winchell
This presentation will encourage you to role play as judge on a live action player investigation. Scenarios have been designed to help you improve your personal investigations methods.

3:15 pm - 3:50 pm - Time Management by CoriAnn Theroux
This presentation will help you achieve a major goal of every judge: ensuring your event operates efficiently. Time management is crucial to good judge customer service.
4:00 pm - 4:20 pm - Judge Resources (You May Not Know About) by Justin Hovdenes
It takes real effort to keep your judge knowledge current and stay connected to our community. This quick presentation will assist with that by providing useful judge resources.

4:30 pm - 5:15 pm - The Judge Program and the Future by Rob McKenzie
Many changes to the Judge Program have been discussed recently by judge leaders and Wizards of the Coast. Rob would like to discuss some of them with you, to the extent he is allowed to, in a presentation that is sure to spark conversation. Much of this information has not been revealed to our judge region before this talk! You won't want to miss this!
5:30 pm - Wrap-Up / Foil Distribution
Rob McKenzie has graciously offered to provide some free swag for the event, including War of the Spark packs so we can play some quick Pack Wars after the conference.
