USA-South Development Conference

Thank you for your interest in the USA-South Development Conference!

This Judge Conference can accommodate 20 attendees. It is open to L2s and L3s, and acceptance will be prioritizing L2/L3s in the USA-South region. If slots are available beyond that, L2s on the path to L3 outside of the USA-South region will be considered. This being said, cover letter is important! Tell us about yourself, what you look to gain from this conference, and what you are working towards in the Judge program. Acceptances will be going out after acceptances for MagicFest Dallas/Fort Worth become public.

TIME
The USA-South Development Conference will be held from 9:00 am until 4:00pm on Monday, July 1st.

We will begin with Breakfast Tacos by Baldy and a meet and greet from 9:00am to 9:30am. Seminars will start at 9:30am, and there will be a lunch break from 11:30am to 12:30pm. 

9:30am-10:30am: Eric Levine- Building a successful staff with the judges you have. How to run a great event and also promote growth with the staff you are given.

10:30am-11:30am: John Alderfer- Improving your Judge Brand. How to make yourself shine, communicate with TOs and Judge Managers, and work towards getting the opportunities you desire.

11:30am-12:30pm: LUNCH BREAK

12:30-1:30pm: John Carter- Philosophy and Deviations. Why Policy is the way it is, determining what we should do in interesting situations, and what happens when things don't quite fit.

1:30pm-2:30pm: CJ Crooks- Investigative Call Taking and Advanced Investigations. Digging up the information you need during investigations efficiency, and techniques to improve your investigative skills.

2:30pm-3:30pm: Ask a Burgundy Panel. Your opportunity to dig into the minds of some of the most experienced GP Head Judges the world has to offer!

3:30pm-4:00pm: Closing and Foils

The conference will take place in North Richland Hills, TX at Realms Comics and Games (formerly SciFi Factory NRH). 9155 TX-26 North Richland Hills, TX 76180 (817) 893-5572 This venue is conveniently located about half way between the Ft Worth Convention Center (location of MF DFW) and DFW Airport.

This is a foil sponsored conference provided by USA-South. As prerequisites for receiving foils you need to be a certified judge and participate actively and in a constructive manner during the seminars. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
