St. Louis Missouri Judge Conference - Mock Tournament Edition

In association with Moonbase Market, the Central USA Region Conference planning teams are excited to announce a regional conference on Sunday June 23, 2019. This event will be a mock tournament with an interesting format, to be detailed below.

Two presentations, a deck check side event, and a mock tournament, all rolled into one day.

We will be using the format of rotation, meaning we will divide the event attendees into four groups. One group will be doing the mock tournament, everything about it, from pairings, to EOR. Two of the groups will be doing one of the presentations, and the last one will be doing a clinic on deck checks. Following each round, there will be approximately 30 minutes for feedback and discussion of presentations in the presentation area, or mock tournament calls, approaches penalties, fixes or alternatives for calls. The next round, things change and different groups will then do a different activity, until all of the groups have been through each activity.

• First Presentation will be Investigations presented by Joel McCallister. This presentation will cover the how and why of investigations.
• Second Presentation will be The IPG and You by Mark Katerberg. This presentation will cover topics related to the IPG, and how applying its contents can help you.
• Deck checks side event will be run by Rocky Wyss. This presentation will have scenarios on what to look for and how to be proficient in performing a deck check.

Applications for this event will close promptly at the end of Friday May 24th. All judges and judge candidates are eligible to attend. Non-judges who wish to attend will need to contact me or Jason Lauborough. We really want people to come and get the most of this conference, so please reach out to your judgelings, and let them get a taste of actual judging! Preference wil lbe given to L1's working towards L2 that need the large event experience that they have trouble getting.

Judge testing for L1 and L2 will be available at this conference. If you wish to arrange for testing at this conference, please answer the appropriate question.
