Event Information
Le Valet d'Coeur is proud to announce our first Mythic Championship Qualifier to be held at the Montreal Cowork in Montreal, QC. This event features a large Standard tournament, with a cap of 170 players, and a Modern Horizons draft side event in the afternoon.
The Head Judge for this event will be Robert Hinrichsen.
CALL TIME
Judges will be expected to be on site and ready to work by 8:30 AM. Judges will not be required to assist setting up the hall but expect some light tasks in the morning like setting the table numbers, placing pairing boards, etc. Judges are also expected to stay until at least the end of the Swiss rounds and assist with cleaning and breakdown. Based on previous events, we can expect the Swiss rounds to end around 8:00 PM but please note that the actual finish time might be different.
ALL JUDGES WELCOME
We are looking for judges of all levels. Judges staffed for this event will be working at Competitive REL and applying the IPG, all while being friendly and customer service focused. As this is a Standard event, being familiar with the format and all the interactions involved is highly recommended.
JUDGE UNIFORM
Judges are expected to wear proper judge attire, as outlined in the official judge uniform guidelines here (under the section entitled "The black judge shirt"). In particular, judges should always strive to maintain a clean and professional appearance when working the event.
ROLES
For this event we are looking for judges to fill the following roles. Please be sure to indicate clearly in your application the role or roles for which you wish to be considered.

He or she should have excellent rules and Comp REL policy knowledge, as well as good mentorship skills and the ability to provide meaningful constructive feedback on performance.
- One (1) Scorekeeper: the Scorekeeper will be responsible for entering results in WER for both the main event and side draft, and for ensuring rounds get turned over in a timely fashion.
- Floor judges: responsible for taking calls from the floor, performing deck checks, and executing other necessary tasks as directed by the Head judge.
- Standbys: are expected to be present for the start of the event along with the rest of the judge staff, and will be activated as floor judges based on player attendance on the day of the event; if not activated, they will be able to participate in the event for free or claim a stipend of $35 for their time.
COMPENSATION
- Judges staffed as Appeals Judge will receive their choice of either $200 cash or $250 in store credit from Valet d'Coeur
- Judges staffed as Floor Judge will receive their choice of either $150 cash or $200 in store credit from Valet d'Coeur

We are also looking for standby judges. If you wish to apply as a standby judge, please select the appropriate box in your application. Judges staffed as standby will be able to play in the main event for free if not needed to judge, or may claim a stipend of $35 in cash for their time.
TRAVEL BONUS
We are offering a travel bonus to help with the transportation costs of judges who come from outside the greater Montreal area to work this event. Judges travelling more than 150 km to Montreal are eligible for a $50 cash bonus, provided they apply and are selected for a non-standby role (standbys are not eligible for this bonus).
