Welcome!
Thank you for your interest in joining us at Comic Asylum's DFW Mythic Championship qualifier. Below, you will find all the information you'll need to be a judge at our event. EXPECTATIONS
Judges are expected to prepare for the event by reviewing the Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules, Infraction Procedure Guide, and Judging at Regular REL documents. These documents can be found at the Magic Judges Document Center. As certified representatives of the Magic Judge Program, judges are expected to behave in a professional manner at all times. Judges are expected to arrive on time and in appropriate attire to begin judging at the start of their assigned shifts.
Floor judges are expected to arrive no later than 7:30 am and are expected to stay until the conclusion of the Swiss rounds. Team Leads will need to arrive by 7:15 and will stay until the conclusion of the event.
Judges should wear black pants, black belt, and black, comfortable shoes. Judge shirt will be determined based on staff selected and availability of shirts. During breaks, or any other time that a judge is off duty, judges should remove or cover their judge shirt.
SETUP/TEARDOWN
Judges will be required to set up and tear down the room as a part of the day. Tables and chairs will need to be set and tablecloths put on as well as setting up table numbers. At the end of the day, all items will need to be taken down and packed up.
COMPENSATION
- Team Leads (2) will receive $160.
- Floor Judges (2) will receive $100.
- Standby Judges (3) will receive $100 if activated. If not activated, they may play in the event for free.
- Scorekeeper (1) will receive $150.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all staff.
