Event Information
Greetings!
Thank you for your interest in joining Atomic Empire to throw down another Mythic Championship Qualifier!
We are running the MCQ as a $3-4K so we're anticipating hitting the Wizards mandated cap of 226 players, especially since this event is open to everyone, regardless of PWP and Modern being one of the most played formats! By 3K-4K I mean that the prize level will be dependant on the number of players in the event - Under 175 is a 3K and 175+ is a 4K.
Our Head judge for this event is Extraordinary Human MEG RICKMAN! We're looking to have 4 Floor Judges join us, and 2 more as standby to get activated at certain attendance levels (again, I expect us to cap, so I'm expecting to staff all 6 floor judges). If for any reason our standby judges are not activated, they will gain free entry into the event!

Yes, we are running this event in our store. Some of you have been here before, and understand we can comfortably seat 226 in our store.
Expectations
Judges will be expected to prepare for each event by reviewing the Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules, Infraction Procedure Guide, and Judging at Regular REL documents. These documents can be found at http://wpn.wizards.com/en/resources/rules-documents. As a representative of the Magic Judge Program at this event, judges are expected to behave in a professional manner at all times. Judges are expected to arrive on time and in appropriate attire to begin judging at the start of their assigned shifts.
The MCQ will start at 10am. Judges are expected to be on hand at 9am. You will not be asked to help with Registration, but we may ask you to help with line management.
Please wear COMFORTABLE SHOES, Black Pants, Belt, whatever socks you want, and did I mention COMFORTABLE Shoes. I don’t actually care what color your shoes are, as long as they are closed toe and comfortable. SHIRTS - lets talk Shirts. Ideally if you have a Regional Polo or State Polo that's black, that'd be fantastic. If not, but you have an official Magic Judge shirt, that's acceptable as well.
Judges should expect to stay until the event cuts into the top 8, though I will be looking for volunteers to help run Top 8. With our cap in place, I feel it’s reasonable to expect Saturday to end around 7pm, though we will need a couple of you for starting the top 8.
If you do not own a black Magic Judges (of any variety) shirt, please let me know. Additionally if you have any questions or concerns with the expectations or the event, please contact me at jcdarran@gmail.com
Compensation
Floor Judges - $150 cash or $187.50 credit
A lunch stipend ($10) will be provided for all judges who are working the event.
Water will be provided free of charge for all judges working the event.
Judges will receive employee discount on all snacks and concessions the store has available at the snack bar.
Applications are due by 8/19/19. We will announce the staff list on 8/21/19
Thank you for your interest in helping make this a great event. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jeff Darran via email at jcdarran@gmail.com
