Applications for this conference will CLOSE 10 DAYS AFTER acceptances to MagicFest Sao Paulo are made public, with Conference acceptances being made public 4 days after that. This is to help those accepted make correct travel plans/adjustments easier. Thank you for your understanding.
This Conference can accommodate 30 attendees. It is open to L2s and L3s, and acceptances will be prioritizing L2s on the path to L3, as well as L2s operating in leadership roles.
This being said, the cover letter is very important! Tell us about yourself, what you look to gain from this conference, and what you are working towards in the Judge Program. Acceptances will be posted publically shortly after Magicfest Sao Paulo acceptances are public.
TIME
The Leadership and Development Conference at Magicfest Sao Paulo will be held from 10am- 5pm November 18th, 2019 (the Monday following Magicfest Sao Paulo)
There are 4 sessions, and a Q&A panel.
10am-1030am- Welcome and Introductions
1030am-1120am- Julio Sosa: Self Evaluation
One of the first steps in advancing your role, is personally evaluating yourself. Julio offers insight on how to do this effectively
1130am-1220pm- Kevin Desprez: Policy
Reversing Decisions from the creator of that policy himself!
1230pm-120pm- LUNCH
130pm-220pm- Alejandro Raggio: Investigations
An unfortunate shortcoming for most Judges in the program, this presentation helps attendees become more familiar with steps and processes on how to conduct a proper investigation.
230pm-320pm- John Alderfer: Public Speaking
Speaking to a large crowd is something that not everyone is born able to do. John goes over tips and tricks to making clear, concise announcements, projecting your voice, and getting the most important info to your players.
330pm-430pm- Panel: Judging Far From Home
Advice on differences judging far away from home Tips to make it more financially feasible, enjoyable, and rewarding, from some of the most traveled judges in the program!
430pm-5pm- Closing and Distribution of Foils.

This is a foil sponsored conference, provided by the Judge Program. As prerequisites for receiving foils, you must be a certified judge and participate actively and in a constructive manner during all seminars. You must attend all sessions to be eligible for foil sponsorship.
