Expedition Modern Team Trios

L'Expedition is looking for a couple of eager judges to help run a Modern (Non-unified) Team Trios event. The event will be Competitive REL, so this is a good opportunity for judges looking to gain more experience at that level.

Event Requirements

We are looking for two floor judges: one firm, and one standby. Acceptances will be posted no later than Sunday August 11, and the standby will be notified no later than Thursday August 15 whether he or she will be activated based on preregistration numbers. You are free to apply for either one or both positions at the same time, based on your preference and availability.

Please note that strong preference will be given to judges who are:

• Fluent in French
• Very familiar with the Modern format

Also, as this event is a good Competitive training opportunity for less experienced judges, priority will be given to L1 judges applying for this event.

Call Time

Call time will be 9:00, and you will be expected to stay until the end of the Swiss.

Compensation

Compensation is $16 per hour, and you will have one (paid) lunch break of 50 mins. Based on anticipated attendance, you should expect to work around 7-8 hours total. You may opt to take store credit rather than cash at a rate of 125%. Whether you take cash or credit, you will be required to send an invoice for your services to L’Expedition after the event.

Note that meals and expenses are not compensated for this event.

Uniform

You are expected to wear propper judge attire, as outlined in the official judge uniform guidelines here (under the section entitled "The Black Judge Shirt"). In particular, you should always strive to maintain a clean and professional appearance while working the event.
