Event Information
This judge conference will take place the day after the Facetoface Open in Victoria in September.
Conferences are a great way to pick up valuable knowledge and skills relating to judging, as well as an excellent source of networking within the judge community. It's nice to be able to have familiar faces at GPs and other large events, and conferences are an amazing way to meet your fellow judges.
Over the course of this conference, you can expect to see various presentations on a variety of topics relating to judging and interacting with players/organizers. Attendees are encouraged to participate in active discussion and to share experiences.
What's in a conference?
The goal of this conference is to improve the overall quality of Magic Judges and their interactions with Magic Players. Attendees are invited to receive training and knowledge from other experienced judges, and share their own skills and observations with the judge community.
This particular conference recipe will likely include a mix of seminar and workshop-style presentations over five hours with a small break in between.
Registration
If you wish to attend this conference, please take the time to apply here on JudgeApps. Attendance at this conference may be limited, so be sure to indicate in your cover letter not only how this conference will affect your own personal growth in the programme, but also how it will benefit your local, regional, or global Magic community.
Please note that you may cancel at any time, so it's better to get your application in sooner rather than forget about it and accidentally miss the deadline. Also note that you can edit your application after applying.
Preference will be given to judges living in British Columbia, but all interested parties are encouraged to apply (and will likely be accepted as long as there is room and their cover letters contain sufficient content).

We want to ensure presentations are not duplicative and provide value to the conference, so we will be reviewing the submissions and contacting folks if changes are needed.
For those wanting to present, consider your audience and how your presentation will provide value to them. Resources are available for helping develop presentations.

Judge candidates wishing to test for L1 or L2 can test at the conference if a tester is available. Please note that you must contact Kyle Yakiwchuk before September 8th to arrange testing.
