Event Information

Hello Fellow Magic Judges!

Game Grid Lehi is proud to announce Mega Modern Weekend 2019 - 3 days of Competitive Modern at the largest tournament in Utah!
We are happy to have Adena Chernosky as our Head Judge, but due to the anticipated attendance we are still looking for L2s and L1s to help out.

For Mega Modern Weekend there are 3 different events that we are looking for assistance with-

$500 FNM Pods:
Much like side events at a MagicFest, we will be offering on demand Modern events for players to test the night before the MCQ.
We are looking for at least one L2 to act as HJ and at least one other L2 or two L1s to help make sure the on demand pods run smoothly.

$5k MCQ:
The main event!
The last MCQ in Utah had 160 players, and we want to make sure that we are properly staffed to handle similar attendance.
To help our HJ out, we are looking for two L2s and two L1s to help out during the MCQ.

$2k+ Sunday:
Wrapping up the weekend, our previous $2k events have had ~80 players.
We are looking for an L2 to act as the HJ and either one L2 or two L1s to help out as floor judges.

Expectations

Judges at Mega Modern Weekend are expected to prepare before the event by reviewing the Magic Tournament Rules, Infraction Procedure Guide, and Comprehensive Rules documents. The most current versions of these documents can be found at the Magic Judges Document Center.

The uniform for judges at this event will consist of the standard black judge shirt (or a black, longsleeve, button-down dress shirt, or a black polo, if you do not have a standard black judge shirt), black belt, black socks, and comfortable black shoes. During any breaks, or at any other time that a judge is off duty, judges should remove or cover their judge shirt.

FNM Judges are expected to arrive at Game Grid no later than 5:30pm, and will be running events until between 12am and 1am.

MCQ Judges & Sunday $2k Judges are expected to arrive at the venue no later than 10:30 am. If you anticipate being unable to arrive on-time or if you need to leave before 10:00 pm, please note this in your application.

Compensation

All compensation will be paid out via Venmo, Facebook Pay, Paypal or Check.
If a judge would prefer in-store credit for any portion of their compensation, they will receive a 25% increase in comp.
