Hawaii PTQ Judge Mini-Conference

Aloha Judges!

 

Welcome to Hawaii’s first Judge Mini-conference!  We are pleased to announce our Judge Mini-Conference in conjunction with the PTQ-M15 on May 31^st. 

 

The mini-conference will be held on June 1^stat Durdle Zone in Aiea. For those judges who are travelling from outside our island, please get in touch with Stephan Classen or Rob Palevac for assistance in travelling to this location. It is about a 20 minute drive depending on traffic and we will be happy to help coordinate your transportation.

 

Judge conferences are the chance for judges to meet each other, share ideas, experiences, and knowledge.  Our judges have had their communication and education channels built through skype/Google+ meetings in the past, however, with, the majority of judges residing on Oahu, there has been little opportunity to interact with L2+ judges and experience larger events.

 

A formal event made the day after the second-largest event on any Hawaiian island in a season will help build cohesion, education and interest in the judging community, and ultimately promote Magic on our islands.  We welcome any judge visiting to attend our mini-conference, and interact with our growing community. 

 

The event will tentatively be recorded live on a broadcast on twitch.tv with video and audio feed for people who are unable to attend, to allow them to watch & participate in chat.  It will either only be accessible by those with a password for access, or made available live to the public.

 

The mini-conference will run from 10:00am to 4:00pm, with a break for lunch and a trivia session with prizes at the end. Participants will be encouraged to either stay for an impromptu booster draft or go out for a meal together after the event is over.

L1 testing opportunities will be available at this event.  Please contact Stephan Classen for details, with information on a passing score on a L1 Practice Exam and events you have judged in the past.
