Event Information
Event Information – Great Lakes Lexington, KY Local Conference - November 9th 2019
We are excited to present the KY region of the Great Lakes judge community an opportunity to brush up on skills, learn some new tactics, and come together as a group. This conference is being developed with a focus on L2 skills and personal development.
This conference is limited to 17 Attendees.
4 slots will be allotted to our Presenters and 1 to our Orgainzer.
All are welcome to apply, but preference will be given to those in KY and those within the Great Lakes Judge Region.
Who is the intended audience?
This conference is intended for all judge levels. The presentations will have a primary focus on developing skills that will assist in the process of obtaining L2. For those already at L2, these lessons may serve as a refresher course for already existing skills and knowledge.
Presentation Agenda:
Each Presentation will be 40 minutes long, followed by a 10-minute Q&A and a 10-minute Break
Each Presentation will start on the hour; the first presentation of the day will start at “1:00 PM”
1) Registration and Introduction

2) Customer Service Workshop - Rick Staley
3) TO Relations - Running a Successful Event - Jason Adams
4) Rules Topic of the day: State Based Actions - James Risner
5) Open - AMA Session Led by Ben Litz
6) Judge Dinner
a. Optional Event - If there is interest, we can plan for a judge dinner outing.
7) Judge Conference Judge Draft

*Foils only available to all certified judges participating in the event. If you are certifying at the event, foils will be unavailable to you per Judge Program policy. Foils will be handed out at the end of event. Judges must sign the presentation sheet that will circulate prior to each presentation.
L2 Testing
We hope to be able to offer L2 testing for any interested judge. Please reach out to benlitz@gmail.com and let us know if you are wanting to test. You will need to have proof that you have meet the checklist requirements before you will be able to test. We will only attempt to schedule a tester if there are eligible candidates and if a tester is available.
Additionally for L2 testing, 2 weeks in advance of the event date you will need to send your L2 applications through the Great Lakes site for review of eligibility to test. https://blogs.magicjudges.org/greatlakes/level-2-pre-event-interview/
