Event Information

On behalf of Element Games, I'm happy to announce the very first WPN Qualifier in the UK for Players tour Brussels!

We're looking to run an event that offers competitive play and prizes as well as a great player experience.

Element Games has one of the largest venues for gaming in the UK, with on-site bar and space for 200+ TCG players and are looking to grow the competitve Magic scene in the north.

You can find full details of the event itself on the Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/380599729528122/

Judges

We're looking for the following judges:

1 Comp REL Experienced Head Judge

1 Floor Judge

2+ Standby Judges

Compensation

Each active judge will recieve their choice of the following:

Head Judge: 1.5 Boxes of Throne of Eldraine // £120 Store credit

Floor Judges: 1 Box of Throne of Eldraine // £80 Store Credit

Standby Judges: Free Entry into the WPNQ

All active judges will recieve free hot drinks and 50% discount on all soft drinks and snacks at the bar.

Judge Academy

This application window (and the event itself) fall after the Judge Academy transition, Judge Academy membership will have no bearing on your application. I'm much more concerned about what skills judges can bring to the event over who has paid for what level of membership. Please include relevant experiences in your application.

Judges are also welome to send applications to magic@elementgames.co.uk with the subject "WPNQ Judge Application" if they don't want to use JudgeApps.

Feel free to get in touch with myself (Harry Barlow) if you have any questions or concerns about this or any other aspect of this event.

Expectations

All judges will need to be in the venue for a judge meeting (approx. 9:30) before the start of the event. Judges should be presentable with black shirt (judge shirt if possible) and black trousers/skirt. During the day you will be taking rulings, delivering penalties, checking decks, dealing with papers and overall delivering a good customer experience.

The head judge will be involved in judge selection before the event and will likely be accepted before the October 3rd deadline.

Before the day, we request judges assist in advertising the event to interested players where possible.

The event will be 6+ rounds of swiss, with each judge getting at least one round as a break during the day.

I have spare room on a sofa (or two) 15~ minutes from the venue if anyone is interested in staying overnight, feel free to mention this in your application if you're traveling from further afield.
