2019 Winter Regional Conference US - South

I am excited to announce, in cooperation with Wizards of the Coast, The USA-South 2019 Regional Judge Conference on December the 14th, 2019.

The event will be held at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, GA. (LESS THAN 1 MILE OFF I75)

Judge conferences represent an opportunity to socialize with and meet regional judges, but more importantly they are a fantastic venue to pool knowledge. Come catch up with old friends while hearing seminars and attending workshops designed strengthen and hone your judging skills. Judges will be presenting seminars and work shops on a wide variety of topics, and if we have enough presenters, we have the space and capability to split into smaller sessions for more tailored presentations for each judge.

EVERYONE is welcome, regardless of level, geographic location, or certification through Judge Academy. Come one, come all! That said, if you do plan to attend, you must apply here. Our large central room (where we'll be doing welcomes and conveining) has a Capacity of 140, which means if applications do explode, we will have to Cap at that number.

SCHEDULING

The conference is tentatively scheduled to run from 10am to 6pm, but will definitely not start before 10am. 

TESTING

 If you are an L1 interested in testing for L2 you will need to be sure to contact me (nik.zitomer@gmail.com) no less than 2 WEEKS PRIOR to the conference with EVIDENCE that pre-testing requirements have been completed.

FOIL SUPPORT

This conference is foil-sponsored. In order to guarantee that you will receive foils at this event, you must be a certified judge and pre-register. There will be no exceptions for any reason. Because we must sent attendee information to WotC at least a month in advance, Judges who register after the application deadline of November 16th, 2019 will be welcome to attend, but will not receive foils. 

HOTEL 

Rooms have been negotiated for this event at a nearby hotel. Mention "US South Magic Judges" to get the group rate.

Rooms at the WINGATE by WYNDHAM ATLANTA GALLERIA CENTER are $79+tax for a king bed or two double beds.

The hotel offers amenities including FREE HOT Breakfast, FREE High speed WIFI, microwave and fridge in room, Fitness center and Heated indoor pool. Our parking is also free and we have a local shuttle from 9am-9pm with a break from (3pm-4pm)

Google Maps says that it is a 7 minute walk or 4 minute drive from the hotel to the Galleria Centre. There is a Sharaton and a Renaissance hotel that are also near by, but they were a lot more expensive.
