PTQ-San Antonio

Heroes and Fantasies along with the MoxMonkeys.com staff will be hosting PTQ San Antonio on June 14, 2014.  Below, you'll find all the information you'll need to attend our event. EVENT INFORMATION

Format: Modern

Date: June 14, 2014

Location: Heroes and Fantasies 4923 NW Loop 410 San Antonio, TX 78229

Time: Registration: 8:30-9:45, Judge Arrival: 8:30,  Begins: 10:00

Side Events: Booster Drafts, Standard & Modern Win a Box

In an effort to start as close as possible to our start time of 10:00 AM this event will be utilizing an online preregistration method; therefore we will not be taking onsite signups after 9:45 the day of the event. 

TRAVEL

We do NOT provide travel or hotel sponsorship for judges at this event. However, we will provide information about any room blocks we may arrange with nearby hotels.

EXPECTATIONS

Judges volunteering for this event are expected to prepare for each event by reviewing the Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules, Infraction Procedure Guide, and Judging at Regular REL documents, each of which can be found at the Magic Judges Document Center. Judges are also expected to behave in a professional manner at all times, as representatives of Heroes and Fantasies and the Magic Judge program. This includes arriving on time, and in appropriate attire. 

Judges should arrive no later than 8:30 AM on the day of the event and are expected to stay until the conclusion of the Swiss rounds. If you must arrive later than 8:30 AM or may have to leave before the conclusion of the Swiss rounds (to catch a ride, for instance), please note that in your application.

The dress code for judges at this event is an official judge shirt (black collared shirt if you do not have one), black pants (dress pants are preferred; jeans are acceptable), a belt, and comfortable shoes (both preferably black). Judges should not be in uniform while off-duty, including during breaks and while trading.

TESTING

Testing opportunities ARE available at this event.  If you would like to test for either L1 or L2 please mention that in your application.  Please note that judges interested in testing should apply ASAP as we will be working with judges who are interested & setting up apropriate times for testing are important.  Please note that testing for L2 canidates will be limited & canidates need to be properly prepared for testing.  Your judge advisor will contact you in order to determine if you are ready to test.

COMPENSATION

All judges for the event will be provided with breakfast, lunch, & those working the top 8 of the event will receive dinner provided by Heroes & Fantasies.  Refreshments will be made available to judges working the event free of charge.  Product compensation is as follows:

Head Judge: 2 Booster Boxes of current Standard legal set

Floor Judges: 1 Booster Box of current Standard legal set

Assistant Level 0 Judges: Breakfast, lunch, refreshments & assistance with finding a judge to test with (MoxMonkeys.com staff will follow up with you after the event if you are prepared to test)
