Thank you for your interest in the L2+ Development Conference at MagicFest Austin!
This Conference can accommodate 30 attendees. It is open to L2s and L3s, and acceptances will be prioritizing L2s on the path to L3, as well as L2s operating in leadership roles.
This being said, the cover letter is very important! Tell us about yourself, what you look to gain from this conference, and what you are working towards in the Judge Program. Acceptances will be posted publically shortly after Magicfest Austin acceptances are public.
TIME
The L2+ Development Conference at Magicfest Austin will be held from 10am- 5pm January 13th, 2020 (the Monday following Magicfest Austin)
There are 4 sessions, and a Q&A panel.
10am-1030am- Welcome and Introductions
1030am-1120am- L3 John Brian McCarthy: How to be a helpful Team Lead
Looking at what you can do to make the HJ's life easier, as well as run an amazing team at large events.
1130am-1220pm- L3 W. Matt Williams: Card Counting.
1230pm-120pm- LUNCH
130pm-220pm- L3 Nicolas Zitomer: Utilizing non-verbal communication in judging situations.
Recognizing body language cues to assist you in handling situations that arise when judging
230pm-320pm- L3 Julio Sosa: 10 misconceptions of Leadership.
330pm-430pm- Panel: "Back in my day...."
In this panel discussion, we chat with some of the most experienced judges in the program. We look back at how things once were, and how those things made what we do now possible.

This is a foil sponsored conference, provided by the Judge Academy. As prerequisites for receiving foils, you must be a certified judge and participate actively and in a constructive manner during all seminars. You must attend all sessions to be eligible for foil sponsorship.
