I'm Board Theros Beyond Death Prerelease

We are headed back to Theros, but this time it is Beyond Death (whatever that means). Anyway, I’m Board will be holding a number of prerelease events for players to get their hands on the new cards.

If you would like to be a judge for these events, please apply.

We will be holding the following events and will be staffing one Head Judge per event. With the player caps given, we should not need a floor judge.

Friday:

    MIDDLETON

        Casual Afternoon Sealed (3 rounds) at 3pm with a 24-player cap.

        Sealed at 7pm with a 40-player cap

    SUN PRAIRIE

        Sealed at 7pm with a 30-player cap

Saturday:

    MIDDLETON

        Sealed at 11am with a 40-player cap

        2-Headed Giant at 5pm with a 36-player cap                                                                                            

    SUN PRAIRIE

        Sealed at 1pm with a 24-player cap

Sunday:

    MIDDLETON

        Sealed at 11am with a 40-player cap

        2-Headed Giant at 5pm with a 36-player cap

    SUN PRAIRIE

        No Sunday event

Expectations:

Head Judges are the masters of ceremonies. They lead the whole operation, from setup to teardown. They coordinate all the tasks that need to be done -- product preparation, announcements, match slips, scorekeeping, floor coverage, round turnover, etc. -- and ensure the event runs smoothly. They are also the final arbiters of rules and policy questions, and they are entrusted to investigate and resolve event-integrity issues like cheating or unsporting conduct.

Because judges will be busy handling every aspect of the event, it is expected that they will not play.

Judges are expected to arrive 45 minutes before their shift to help with registration and setup. Attire is standard Judge Black: shirt, shoes, belt, pants/dress/skirt/utilikilt, etc. A Magic Judge uniform shirt is great if you have one, a plain black shirt of some other sort is fine too. Or, if you have some other Judge swag, that's cool too. If you have questions or concerns, indicate as such in your cover letter, and/or contact the Judge Manager.

Compensation:

Compensation is in the form of packs or store credit in addition to a special playmat printed for I’m Board for this event.

A head judge who judges a 4-round even will receive one complete box (36 packs) of Theros, Beyond Death or $120 in store credit.

A head judge who judges a 3-round event (Friday afternoon in Middleton) will receive ¾ of a box (27 packs) of Theros, Beyond Death, or $90 in store credit.
