Judge Requirements
For these events, we want to give an opportunity to those L1s who are looking to gain more Competitive REL experience. To that end, please indicate in your application your current proficiency with Comp REL rules and policy, your past experience at Comp REL events, and your goals for this event should you be accepted.
As a floor judge, you are expected to:
- Be up to date on all set mechanics and interactions for the sets relevant to the format of your event (see the Release Notes for each set) as well as all required documents for judging at Competitive REL (IPG, MTR).
- Wear proper judge attire. The Face to Face games judge polo is preferred, but otherwise you should follow the official judge uniform guidelines here (under the section entitled "The black judge shirt"). In particular, you should always strive to maintain a clean and professional appearance while working the event.
- Contribute to the success of the event and have a positive, helping, and professional attitude toward players, staff, and other judges at all times.
Compensation
L1s staffed as floor judges will be paid $16 per hour for the first 8 hours of their shift, then $24 per hour for any hours beyond 8.
Note that there is NO lunch stipend provided, and the one-hour lunch break is unpaid.
Call Time
Call time for each event is 11:00, as the events start at 12:00. On arrival be prepared to help with set-up and registration.
Applications
Deadline to apply is Saturday, January 25th
Acceptances will be posted the following day (Sunday the 26th)
Please indicate the events for which you would like to be considered as a floor judge, as well as a first choice preference (but note that it is not likely that you will be accepted for more than one event).
