Event Information

Mox Boarding House Seattle is seeking an L2 to act as Head Judge for our WPNQ Preliminary Event on February 16th!

The event will be taking place at Mox Boarding House - Seattle on Sunday, February 16th. Registration will open for players at 10:00 AM and judges will be expected to be on-site at 11:30 AM to go over details for the day.

The main event will begin at 12:00 PM and is expected to wrap up at 7:00 PM, provided max attendance is reached. There will NOT be a top-cut for this event; the top 16 players will instead qualify to participate in the Qualifier on February 29th.

The format for our Preliminary Event is Sealed!

This tournament will be run at Competitive Rule Enforcement Level, as required by WotC. Please be familiar with the Infraction Procedure Guide and DQ procedure. We also ask our judging staff to please exercise additional patience for players who are unfamiliar with this level of rules enforcement as we frequently draw players making the move from casual to competitive players at our events.

At this time, we are only seeking an L2 to act as head judge for this event. No additional staff is needed.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON JUDGING EVENTS AT MOX BOARDING HOUSE: If you are accepted to the event and have not previously filled out a Background Disclosure Authorization form with a Mox Boarding House location you will need to do so before you can act as Judging Staff for a Mox Boarding House Location. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this process please contact mholocher@moxboardinghouse.com

COMPENSATION
The Head Judge for the event will have the option of 2 booster boxes of any current Standard set, or $160 in-store credit. In addition, Judging Staff not currently part of our Community Host team will receive a meal from Cafe Mox on us and one 45-minute break during Swiss rounds. They will also receive the Mox Boarding House volunteer discount on the product purchased in-store that day.

JUDGE ATTIRE
Judges shirts are not provided but encouraged if you have one you would like to wear. A black button-up shirt works just fine if you do not have an official judge shirt. Judging staff will be given a Mox Boarding House Volunteer Badge so they are not confused for our retail staff. You will probably still be asked about where a family can find Settlers of Catan once or twice. Just hand them over to our Scorekeeping staff to get them pointed in the right direction.
