Event Information
Star City Games Regionals is back on the west coast! We are eager to build a strong judge team to run this event at top notch performance. Our estimate on players is currently 250, but the Regional event can go up to as large as 300+ so expect a long day. We are looking for 3-4 highly experienced level one or two judges, and one level three head judge. You will be expected to not only will uphold the integrity of the game but also deliver excellent customer service to every player, attendee, and customer that you interact with. The primary responsibilities for each role will be determined base on your judge experience. I, Thomas Reardon, and Kyle Allen will be managing all active judges participating in the event. Your meals will be paid for (Breakfast donuts, Lunch, Dinner). Event registration begins at 9am, so we do expect you to arrive no later than 15 minutes after that time with your full judge uniform clean and ready to rock and roll.
Floor Judges (2-3): In charge of answering a majority of judge calls, and your primary responisibility will be to scout for decks that will require a deck check. Take extensive notes on players that maybe slow playing and relay anything off to either myself or Kyle Allen.
Event Managers (1-2): In charge of scorekeeping, performing deck checks primarily. You are the immediate back up for floor judges. If all of those judges are currently handling other players, you are the first person to jump into action.
Head Judge: We have three core rules of our room: Respect the players, respect the staff, respect the game. Your responsibility is to identify players who are breaking these rules and administer penalties to deter misbehavior. This is our stores first run at a large scale event, so we will rely on your guidance and expertise for running the event. You will have the full support of the staff and the owner at your disposal.
Judge pay will be based on level with opportunities to receive more pay. All judges who overperform and go above and beyond can receive additional pay.
Level 1: $150/ Level 2: $225 / Level 3: $300
