Event Information
GMI Games is holding there PTQ at Rubidoux High School Gym at 4250 Opal Street – Riverside, CA 92509.
In response to several questions regarding our upcoming PTQ (Pro-Tour Qualifier); we at GMI Games have decided to post the following FAQ on our website:
v What day is it, and is it a single or multi-day event?
- May 31, 2014 and it is a single day event.
v When does it start?
- Registration opens at 9:00am and round one will start between 10:00am and 10:30am.
v Can I pre-register?
- No. Pre-Registration for this event, we should have plenty of room.
v How much does it cost to enter?
- The cost is $45.00 for the main event which includes a free meal ticket. Side events will cost $15.00 per event.
v What’s the format?
- The format for the main event is Sealed ( 2 Theros, 2 Born of the Gods & 2 Journey into NYX).
v What’s in the prize pool?
- First place is a travel reward (i.e. airline tickets) to Pro Tour Magic 2015 will take place August 1-3, 2014 in Portland, Oregon, USA.. The remainder of the prize pool has yet to be determined, but will depend upon the number of players participating in the main event.
v How long will it last?
- We expect the main event to take 10 to 12 hours to complete.
v How many events will you be running that day?
- There will be a single main event, and then starting at the beginning of the third round we will be taking signups for 8 player box draft side events.
v What about food,snacks, etc.?
- We are having food catered in by Cardelli’s Italian Deli which feaures Boar’s Head meats and cheeses.
v But what about singles?
- We have contracted with Shuffle & Cut and Tier 1 games to handle the sale, purchase, and trading of singles for this event as well as other related merchandise.
Compensation:
Compensation for volunteers will be 1/2 box of Journey Into Nyx for level 0 judges, 1 box of Journey Into Nyx for level 1 judges, and a 1-1/2 box of Journey Into Nyx for level 2 judges.
If you are selected for standby and are needed in the event you will get full compensation based on level. If you end up not working in the event you will receive free entry into the event.
