Benelux Online Mini Conference - Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths

Since circumstances prohibit us from having our usual face to face Mini Conferences in the week before the prerelease...

We present to you the very first Benelux Online Mini Conference! 

This conference will be held on a private server on Discord. A few days before the conference, accepted judges will be added to this server.

A headset is not strictly required to participate, though required if you want to be able to speak with other attendees or ask verbal questions. Please use the Discord settings before the conference to verify that your audio set-up works clearly and does not have a lot of background noise. We cannot help you fix this during the presentations, and if your audio interferes with others ability to listen we will have to mute you.

The Schedule of this conference:

18:30 - Informal start, you are welcome to join the Discord meeting.

You are not required to be online at this time, however you are welcome to already join us on the Discord server we will set up for this event.

Catch up with your judge buddies, eat your food, make sure you have all the snacks and drinks you need during the event,...

19:00 - Official start, general briefing.

At this point we will make sure everything and everyone is set up for this conference, and give you all a general briefing on how this online event is going to run.

Note that dropping by after 19:00 will not be possible.

19:15 - Running Magic events in times of social distancing with Jona Bemindt

20:00 - Break

20:15 - The people's rules seminar with Arjen de Jong

21:00 - Break

21:15 - Exploring competitive judging with Anniek van der Peijl

22:00 - Official end.

The people's rules seminar:

You might have noticed that Arjen's seminar is named 'The people's rules seminar'. His seminar is the one that would usually offer insight into the new set Ikoria right before the prerelease weekend. Due to the sets launch being pushed forward and there being likely no prereleases for our region anytime soon, this might not be the most sought after rules-based seminar at the moment. That means you, the people, have a choice to make! Pick the subject you would like to see presented in your application of this event.

Some things never change:

Bring your own food is still at thing!

Though you don't have to bring your food somewhere, you can enjoy your epic spaghetti, viskes, stroopwafels,...

whatever dinner you want in the cosy comfort of your own home. (Because #stayathome)

As always you have to pre-register for this conference via this JudgeApps event.

Note that at the moment we have only 45 spots. If you register and get accepted, we expect you to also show up at the event online.

If, due to circumstances, you can not be present please let us know as this opens a free spot for someone else who would like to attend.

Note that we will give priority to Benelux based judges first, however if we have spots left judges outside of Benelux can also be accepted. 

Acceptations will be send out on April 10th from 20:00.

Some things have changed:

Instead of a seperate Mini Conference for Belgium and the Netherlands, this is a combined Mini Conference and there will be three seminars instead of two.

Since this is an online conference there will be no foil conference support. However we hope that the joy of learning will motivate you to attend this conference anyway ;-)
