Event Information
Saturday, June 1st we will be hosting a cEDH 3K Max event with Unplugged Games in New Bern, North Carolina!
The 3k Max event is a progressive prizing event depending on player turnout, with maximum player participation being 64.
By example; if only 32 players participate, the prize pool will be $1500.
Please answer the questions asked in the application process as best you can.
The application window will close: May 18th 23:59 EST and staffing announcements will be made May 21st.
The format is cEDH, scorekeeping through topdeck.gg
IPG & MTR used are topdeck.gg's competitive REL addendum for commander events, current version 2.1 as of Feb. 12th, 2024.
Rounds will be Swiss, 70 minutes, Top 10 cut, 1st and 2nd seed guaranteed final table.
We will be taking applications for the positions of a Head Judge and Judge Leads positions.
Day:
The event will only be one day, June 1st.
The venue for the event opens at 9a.m.
Check-In begins at 9:30a.m.
Start time is 10:30a.m.
Schedule:
The schedule isn't set in stone at this moment, but the expected shift times are below.
Shifts will include a 30 minute break with a possible additional 30 minute break between rounds, depending on player count and flow of the event.
No matter what the venue for the event doesn't open until 9a.m., and check-in is handled by us.
- Head Judge: 6-8 Hours
- Judge Lead: 6-8 Hours
Roles:
You may apply for either of the roles. Compensation for the roles is based on responsibility and total event time.
Head Judge:
If selected for a Judge role, you may be asked to perform duties in one or more of the following areas:
- Partner and lead the members on the Judge team to perform tasks during the event.
- Perform Judge related tasks, and flex floor Judging as needed.
- Perform end of round announcements and progress between rounds in a timely fashion.
Compensation: $25/hour
Judge Leads:
As a Lead, you may be asked to perform duties in one or more of the following areas:
- Floor Judge
- Develop a break schedule between Judge parties.
- Communicate with Scorekeepers, Administrators and other Leads.
Compensation: $20/hour
Registration, Scorekeeper and Prizing will be handled from the HydroPump Pokeshop.
If player turnout is less than expected and not as many judges are needed; you will still be paid for 4 hours minimum.
As a Staff Member:
Courtesy, respectfulness and player experience are top priorities during the entirety of the event. Let's have a great time!
Food:
Lunch will be provided.
Attire:
Jeans/Khaki pants and an appropriate shirt are acceptable. If you have Judge attire, that's preferred.
Payment:
Payment will be provided in the form of cash at the end of the event, or your out time on shift.
All Judge staff are expected to adhere to the same Health and Safety procedures as participants.
