Judge Conference South Africa

Hi everyone,

After quite a disruptive and volatile year we have our first judge conference this time through Magic Judges South Africa. We have our first official judge conference happening and, to maximise accessibility, it will be hosted on Discord. If you have been a historical member of the South African judge community and wish to join, please make sure to pay your MJSA fees. Otherwise, any new faces who are interested in magic judging in South Africa are welcome to join and get a better feel for both the community and anything else MJSA related you may be interested in learning.

The conference is expected to run from:

11h00-15h00 - South Africa (GMT+2)

10h00-14h00 - Central Europe (GMT+1)

09h00-13h00 - UK (GMT+0)

This will include some time for a lunchbreak. Additionally, while we aim to stick to these times, please do expect a bit of South African time (flexibility). 

I would like to target 4 presenters (3 remaining slots are available at the time of posting). I am not setting any primary focus areas for the conference, but I would like to have a reasonable spread of topics.

• Judge etiquette/tableside manner (booked)
• Policy updates, revisions and refresher (preferably casting an eye between regular and competitive)
• Rules updates, revisions and "new" mechanics
• Wildcard topic that doesn't necessarily cover any of the above but enriches none the less.

As a rule of thumb presentations are to target 30-45mins, but some degree of flexibility is present.

Note: As you are not on staff for this event, some users may be hidden from the staff list, in accordance with their privacy settings. You can always see the full staff list if you are either part of the staff yourself, or otherwise, after the event is over.
