PTQ/WMCQ Double Header - Crawley

Dark Sphere and Games & Gears are pleased to solicit judges for a double header event at the Games & Gears Convention 2014. 

First up on Saturday is a Sealed Deck Pro Tour Qualifier for PT Washington, DC. The head judge will be Matt Johnson.

Sunday's event is England's second World Magic Cup Qualifier of the year. The format will be Standard and the head judge will be Thomas Ralph.

Both the days will have side events including last chance qualifiers on Saturday for the WMCQ. Judges will be expected to attend from 9:15am until at least the end of Swiss. One or two judges may be asked to optionally stay for the top 8.

These events are expected to be large (in excess of 200 players each) and there will be long days. In view of the above and in order to give the best possible service to players,  judges will generally be offered one or the other event only.

Standby applications will also be accepted in the usual way. Judges selected as standby will be offered complimentary admission to the event but expected to judge (and given standard compensation) in the event of player turnout being high. Selecting the volunteer option means standard compensation of one box of boosters (M15 unless otherwise agreed) per day will be offered. We are not in a position to offer travel or accommodation sponsorship; however, a block of rooms is available at a preferential rate for convention attendees. Details on request from the TO.

Please note that the venue is approximately 3 miles from Gatwick Airport and there is no complimentary shuttle. The nearest railway station is Crawley, approximately 1 mile away.

Acceptance may take place on a rolling basis before the deadline so it is in your interest to apply as early as possible.
