Staffing Needs and Structure

We are seeking reliable and professional judges to ensure a smooth, high-quality Competitive REL event.

• Total Judge Staff: 6 Judges (including the Head Judge)

• Head Judge (HJ): [Name TBD - Judge Level L2 or Higher]

• Judge Requirement: We prioritize L1 and L2 Judges with recent Competitive REL experience. Experienced L0s are welcome to apply for a mentorship role.

• Open Roles:

  • 4 Floor Judges

  • 1 Scorekeeper/Logistics Judge (Must be comfortable with large event software like EventLink and Companion App troubleshooting)

Judge Compensation

Compensation is competitive, factoring in your certified Judge Level and assigned responsibilities.

• L2 Judges: $200 USD Stipend per day worked, plus 1 display box of the current Standard set.

• L1 Judges: $150 USD Stipend per day worked, plus 1/2 display box of the current Standard set.

• L0 Judges (Mentorship): $100 USD Stipend or equivalent store credit.

• Perks: Complimentary, catered lunch, unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks provided daily. Staff shirts will be provided.

Judge Development and Goals (Mandatory Section)

We value staff development. This event offers an excellent opportunity to refine skills in a high-stakes, large-scale environment. All applicants are asked to state a specific area of growth.

Staff Development Goals:

• Focus for L2s: Practice delegation, management of the logistics station (scorekeeping), and complex investigation of Cheating/Stalling infractions.

• Focus for L1s: Mastery of the IPG's philosophy on Missed Triggers and applying the "Fix-it-Don't-Dwell-on-it" approach to Minor Game Rule Violations.

• Overall Goal: Improve efficiency in communication between floor judges and the HJ to minimize round time extensions.
