Event Information

ConnectiCon is proud to present a new offering at this year's convention: the Nor'easter Throwdown in the TCG Arena! This three day event  will feature multiple 1k and casual events for each of the following games over the weekend:

Magic the Gathering - CEDH - Five Events - Two Friday, Two Saturday, One Sunday

Star Wars Unlimited - Premier - Three Events - One Friday, One Saturday, One Sunday

Disney Lorcana - Core -  Three Events - One Friday, One Saturday, One Sunday

One Piece - Three Events - One Friday, One Saturday, One Sunday

Riftbound TCG - Three Events - One Friday, One Saturday, One Sunday

Available Roles and compensation

Judge Team Lead - ($300/day): This role will be responsible for multiple events at a time for multiple games as the final point of escalation, assigning roles, guiding various teams, and overall management of the events. This role will require previous leadership experience and certification in multiple games from the list above. Expect shifts to run 10-12 hours each day.

Assistant Lead - ($250/day): This role will support the Judge Lead  as required, stepping in when the primary lead is unavailable, assisting players and judges as needed, and other tasks assigned by the team lead during the event. This role will require certification in multiple games from the list above with previous leadership experience as a plus. Expect shifts to run 10-12 hours each day.

Event Scorekeeper - two positions -($250/day): This role will support the tournaments by managing tournament software and event logistics to keep the events running smoothly and on time. Expect shifts to run 10-12 hours each day.

Floor Judge - eight positions - ($200/day): You’ll work in the role of a floor judge either on the scheduled events or side events.  Depending on the needs of the event, you may operate in a team lead role at some point throughout the weekend, but primarily will be ensuring our players have the support they need in the events, assist in taking judge calls and performing deck checks, and other related judge and event tasks, including but not limited to cleanup at the end of each day, aiding registration or line management, and launching on demand events. Expect your shifts to run 9-10 hours.

Setup (Thursday) - $150 - Please note in your application if you would like to work Setup on Thursday, For Setup on Thursday, your shift will be 3pm to 9pm, ensuring everything is ready to go by the end of your shift. All team members will be expected to assist with teardown on Sunday,

Shared hotel rooms available upon request. Rooms will be shared accommodations with up to four people per room (Two Queen beds per room). Space for this is limited.

All staff will receive a 1 hour lunch break, and two 30 minute short breaks each day.

Important Info to know before you apply

This event will feature multiple games. Ideally, you will have a certification with one or two of the listed games above as you may be called upon to help take a call on any event on the floor depending on the needs of the events. However, we expect everyone brought on staff to be able to provide the best customer service they can to the players, regardless of your experience with the games offered.
