Event Information
Breach the Bay 2 and the Topdeck Invitational will take place on August 22nd and 23rd in San Matea, CA.
This is a Competitive EDH event held by Doot Loot and Merlion Games. There will be 2 events going on simultaneously: a guaranteed 25k Open cEDH event and a 64 player invitational marking the end of the 2026 Topdeck cEDH season. Additionally, there will be a legacy side event day 1 and likely a premodern event day 2 along with a cEDH redemption event for those who scrubbed out of the main events.
Your head judge for the Open/Weekend is Michael Puchkov.
We are looking for 14 total judges:
- 1 Head Judge for the Invitational
- 1 Head Judge for Side Events
- 2 Appeals Judges for the Open
- 9 Floor Level Judges dispersed amongst the Invitational, Open, and Side Events
Available Roles
Head Judge for Invitational/Side Events ($400/day): You will be Head Judge for your event. You will be in charge of running that event, checking alters/proxies, taking appeals, and responsible for your Floor Judges. Must be knowledgeable knowledgeable on policy and rules, including the MTRA for cEDH if working the Invitational. Preferably have experience for the format you will be Head Judging, which will be cEDH unless you are applying for the Legacy and Premodern side events.
Appeals Judge for Open/Invitational ($300/day): You will be supporting and reporting to your Head Judge. You are expected to be knowledgeable on policy and rules, including the MTRA for cEDH. You will be expected to transition between working as a Floor Judge when necessary and as Interim Head Judge when the Head Judge goes on break. You may be upgraded to a Head Judge on Day 2 if necessary. Preferably have experience judging cEDH.
Event Floor Judge for Open/Invitational/Side Events ($200/day): You will work as a Floor Judge over the course of the weekend, reporting to the Head Judge for your event. Depending on the event, you may need to operate in a team lead role as your Head Judge/Appeal Judge take breaks, but primarily will be ensuring our players have the support they need in the events, assist in taking judge calls and performing deck checks, and other related judge and event tasks. Do not necessarily need cEDH judging experience but you are expected to have familizarized yourself with the MTRA for cEDH.
Shifts are expected to last upwards of 10 hours. You are expected to be at the venue at least 30 min before the start of your event (times to meet will be relayed as we get closer to the event as Day 1 may have an early Judge's meeting). All judges will receive an hour lunch break and an additional 30 minute break.
