Event Information
Thank you for your interest in judging at the 2014 Eternal Weekend, to be held in Philadelphia, PA on October 24-26th, 2014. This event will feature both the 2014 Legacy Championship, the 2014 Vintage Championship, and a Khans of Tarkir Sealed PTQ for PT "Dewey". In order to make all of this a success, we are going to need a phenominal judge staff, which you can be a part of!
Event Information:
(Saturday) Legacy Championship: Nicholas Sabin - L3
(Sunday) Vintage Championship: Abe Corson - L3
(Sunday) Pro Tour Qualifier: Nicola DiPasquale - L3
Compensation and Judging Schedule:
Friday will be made up of one shift, which will run from Noon - 10pm. Judges who are staffed on Friday and also staffed for Saturday will have preference of which Saturday shift they would like to work. Judges will get a dinner break in the middle of their shift. For purposes of comp, Friday is considered a "Normal Shift" (detailed below).
Saturday and Sunday will have two options available to judges. A "Normal Shift" (roughly 8am - 6pm or 11am - 9pm) or the option to work an "Extended Shift" (roughly 8am - 10pm). As always, judges will receive two meal breaks throughout the day.
L1 Judges will receive 1 CU per Normal Shift (1.5 CU per Extended Shift).
L2 Judges will receive 1.5 CUs per Normal Shift (2 CUs per Extended Shift).
L3+ Judges will receive 2 CUs per Normal Shift (2.5 CUs per Extended Shift).
Each compensation unit can be redeemed for an in-print booster box, $100 store credit, or $75, mailed as a check after the event, pending completion of tax forms. In addition to the appropriate number of compensation units earned, each Judge will also be given a $20 per diem for each day they are staffed, paid at the end of the event along with any other comp. Additionally, each Judge will also be receiving the participation playmat, Crucible of Worlds, as well as a Staff/VIP exclusive original playmat illustrated by none other than Christopher Rush who will be in attendance.
Expectations:
Judges will be expected to arrive on time each day ready to work. Ready to work includes the standard Judge uniform (Judge shirt or black button down shirt, black pants, black belt, black shoes, and black socks), proper hygene, as well as having completed any personal morning ritual. In addition, Judges are expected to have an up-to-date knowledge of the Comprehensive Rules and Penalty Guidelines as it relates to a Competitive REL event.
Travel:
Judges will be expected to travel and lodge at their own expense. Top Deck Games will not be offering any travel accommodations. We have arranged for a room block at the Holiday Inn in Cherry Hill, NJ. The hotel is about 6 miles (10 minutes by car) away from the Convention Center. The rate is $104/night, and the rate is available for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. The block will be going live to the public on Monday, September 29th. The block will close on October 9th. The link to make a reservation is:
