Richmond Area Judge Celebration 2014

The Richmond, Virginia area is blessed with a vibrant Magic scene. We have an amazing community of players and a bevy of excellent judges, both local and shipped in from nearby locales. Last year we celebrated these fantastic judges with a special event and this year I've decided to do it again. I don't have a pile of special guild packs to replicate the Ravnican Guild Brawl from last year, but who wants to do the same old thing anyway?

This year, we are returning to The Time Capsule/The Silver Unicorn in Hopewell, Virginia to celebrate again, beginning at 11:00 AM. We will each be grabbing a couple other judges and getting product and prizes for what I call a microdraft. While this will be happening on Sunday of release weekend, I don't think I will have any Khans of Tarkir product yet. I have a variety of stuff in my closet that is going toward this, so you never know what you're going to get. The three of you will each draft one of the packs, each add three of each basic land type to your deck and play a 30 card deck (like Pack Wars). Unless you have some crazy Conspiracy that changes everything, of course.

Prizes will include entry for the winner into a special qualifying round of microdrafts that each have a golden ticket among their prizes. Three random golden ticket earners will play in the championship game of this year's Richmond Area Judge Celebration: Another microdraft, using Modern Masters packs.

Of course, like any grouping of Judges, I'm sure there will be EHD to be played, so bring your favorite Commander and 99 of his closest friends. While the purpose of this event is to celebrate the awesome judges that live in or come to Richmond to facilitate awesome events, it is open to ALL certified judges, since if you are able to attend, it means you're a judge who has traveled to Richmond. This prophecy is self fulfilling, folks.

Also, if you are a Regional Coordinator and come, you will receive special VIP status, which is mostly meaningless and serves as a way to give Turner a reason to come for a symbolic pat on the head that says, "It's okay, buddy. You're special."
